With Creams opening soon, why have so many dessert bars suddenly found Reading needs them?
A clue can be found on just about any restaurant menu. They all have an almost identical range of bog standard choices…sticky toffee pudding…cheesecake…chocolate cake…etc.
They are virtually telling the customer they are putting no effort into their dessert offer. Now they are going to find an awkward rival as customers with a sweet tooth start to get more excited about much more exciting alternatives.
Restaurants might up their game but they might have faced less of a threat if they had acted sooner.
