Road rage

photoWhat’s become an annual obsession of the council  – resurfacing roads every summer holiday – is becoming a little silly.

This is Lower Henley Road. There is hardly a bump or a crack. Yet they will begin resurfacing it shortly while a stretch of Henley Road, a few yards away is a potholed mess.

There are countless roads in a bad way yet every year the council sets about spending thousands resurfacing perfectly good roads. It’s almost a race to waste money.

Only an inept public service could waste resources like this while essential services face desperation. Perhaps it’s a budgetary surplus they need to get rid of.

But whatever it is, something is badly wrong.
