Bargain hunt

photoThis sight, pictured yesterday, had everything you might expect to make a good episode of Watchdog.

A dodgy looking ‘sale’ in an empty Broad Street shop, advertising all sorts of ludicrous bargains.

Yet there were dozens inside and once the bouncer on the door decided, these people hanging around outside would be next in.

You didn’t have to go inside to know what to expect. Crowds whipped up to spend their money buying what they optimistically thought would be goods for a fraction of their price.

It’s hard to believe that with all the media on these sorts of sales that people don’t stop to think how these prices might be arrived at. Or that they might just be too good to be true.

But while they do there will always be a market for these events. Sadly.
