photo(5)The death of Jacksons has been a long and drawn out process no-one has really enjoyed.

Now the debate moves onto what will happen to the building. Shops with flats above is most likely but what of the Jacksons Corner wording?

Retailers in the new shops might just find themselves in one of the most easily identifiable locations in town. And where else has its location in huge letters above?

However, discussions I have had suggest retailers want their own brand to be seen, not that of another, even though that one has gone.

It has taken decades for names like the Butts Centre and Heelas to fade away for their replacement, so the name Jacksons Corner won’t go quietly. If I was a new retailer there I’d be inclined to seek the PR value of keeping it.
