Three of the five top stories are about the town: One, its award-winning bookshop; two, its specialist guitar shop expanding into Reading and three, it’s new Bosco Lounge, due to open soon in the precinct.
One day bigger town’s will eventually start to turn their heads and consider how smaller ones are doing so well. The percentage of empty shops and offices in Reading is evidence it has much to learn, although there are too many who want to celebrate its successes, while ignoring its failings.
The longer it takes for big brash centres to learn from smaller, tighter, more efficient towns and villages, the more costly it could be.
