Curtains at no 42

BlindshopChurch Street, Caversham might continue to thrive but little seems to work for number 42.

This store, once an estate agent, once a Greek coffee shop, once a deli, was until recently a curtains and blinds shop. But in the last few weeks, like all the others, it shut up shop, unable to make this spot work.

Nearby a travel agent, fish and chip shop, flower shop hardware shop, opticians and hairdressers have survived for years, yet this shop fails time and again.

As the reflection in the shop window shows, Waitrose is opposite, with its thousands of shoppers each week.

If anyone has any idea why this shop doesn’t work, I’d like to know it.
